Testimonials

Reflecting on my earliest memory experiencing perfectionism and creative shame was very timely exercise. I was amazed at the insight I gained from this exercise!!!

I enjoyed Lore's disarming approach. Given that some parts of the topic could be triggering, they did an amazing job of making it fun.

Lore has such a wonderful and positive energy. It's clear that their practice has helped them grow, and I'm incredibly grateful to learn this practice.

FAQs

  • Why should I make ugly art?

Well, when was the last time you tried it? Let your hand glide freely across a page, unhindered by judgment or the voices of childhood mentors who said you weren't good enough? When was the last time you wrote yourself a little poem about the annoyingly long grocery line or drew a picture of how you felt after doing the dishes - just because? How about you do that a few times, and you tell me why you should make ugly art.

  • Do I need to bring my own materials?

Materials are provided for in-person events unless otherwise specified.

Virtual events, you're on your own. Time to dig through your closet to find those abandoned watercolors that are cracked like the Sahara.

  • Do I need to have experience making art?

Absolutely not. Ugly art is accessible to all, because it really doesn't matter what it looks like! I'm of the belief that everyone is creative, whether or not you've painted a picture in recent memory. Accessing that creativity is simply a matter of saying "yes" to whatever you want to do in the moment. No experience necessary!

  • Do I need to speak or share my creation in front of the group?

Because of the nature of ugly art being a place for silliness, joy, and no expectations, I aim to make my workshops a safe container so you feel comfortable to share your experiences and your art.

That said, you know your limits, and you are never obligated to interact beyond your comfort level.

If creating in a group feels too intimidating and you'd still like to explore your creativity to navigate the creative shame you're experiencing, consider hiring me for individual coaching!

  • I'm scared. Help?

Me too, bud. All the time. Making art when you have no idea what you're doing is terrifying. But I promise, you have so much inside you worth exploring!
